Mark Kermode Live in 3D at the BFI with Eddie Hamilton
From editing Tom Cruise’s death-defying stunts to redefining action storytelling, Eddie brings unmatched insight from a career spanning decades.
I’ve always been drawn to performing and connecting with people, whether on stage or behind a microphone. My love of storytelling began through opera, where performing at weddings and competitions taught me how to engage an audience, communicate emotion, and create genuine connections through performance.
My journey into journalism began unexpectedly during my second year at Newcastle University, when I spotted a Facebook advert for a role at BBC Radio Lincolnshire. That first opportunity introduced me to the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism, and I quickly discovered a passion for finding stories, speaking to people, and bringing ideas to life. From this experience, I went on to create and present my own radio show at Newcastle University, which I hosted for two years.
Travel has also shaped the way I approach storytelling. While working internationally as a Marketing and Business Intern in Seville, Spain, I developed the ability to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds, even when language presented a challenge.
After graduating, I moved to London to complete my MA in Broadcast Journalism at City, University of London, where I continued to build my experience across television, radio, and digital platforms. Alongside my studies, I worked with leading film commentators Mark Kermode and Anna Smith on their live shows and podcasts, further developing my skills in entertainment journalism.
I have a deep love for film, television, and pop culture, but at the heart of everything I do is a passion for storytelling. I strive to create content that inspires, connects communities, and leaves a lasting impact.
